They don't make em like that anymore!

They don’t make em like that anymore. This is the phrase my sister-in-law Mary Sue always uses when describing the antiques we find on buying trips. It makes me laugh when she says it because it is so heartfelt. The phrase however, is absolutely true.
Today I was looking at some photos of the pieces we purchased on our most recent trip to Italy. Here are a few examples:

Italian antique ceramic vases from the region of Puglia. Used in homes for vinegar, oil and other things such as preserves. They don’t make em like that anymore.

18th century door frames from an Italian church. Painted, gilded, carved, beautiful. They don’t make em like that anymore.

Found these chairs (there are 2). Love them. Very unusual design. They don’t make em like that anymore.

Set of stained glass windows from an Italian villa. They don’t make em like that anymore.

Stools from a wine bar. They don’t make em like that anymore.

Italian antique ceramic vase. They don’t make em like that anymore.
After looking at the photos from Italy today I’m feeling a little sentimental about the trip and all of the great stuff we found. Sigh…. they just don’t make em like that anymore.
